Average Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Tue, 10 Jan 2012

Interviewed Nov 2011 in Oakland, CA(took 4 months)
The process was very choppy and took a long time. Ultimately, it took so much time I accepted another offer. It was uncoordinated with multiple assistants scheduling interviews for the same day. The key contact did not maintain my confidentiality of my job search, despite several conversations, and called my current employer (who did not know I was looking for a new job) without my permission or "heads up".

Interviewed Sep 2011 in San Jose, CA(took 2 months)
I applied on line. I received a call a several weeks later from the hiring Director's assistant. I then had multiple phone interviews and then several on-site interviews. Once I interviewed on-site, it took several months and a lot of follow-up on my part to close the deal. Even after that, the negotiation phase and such were painful to say the least. HR is a process I don't even want to go into. Overall I would say the interviews themselves were great, but the process after made me want to eat nails. It made the overall experience for me horrible.

Difficult Interview – Overall Neutral Experience – No – Wed, 8 Feb 2012

Interviewed Jan 2012(took 3 weeks)
After many online applications I got a phone call to do an interview with the pharmacy mananger that lasted 90 minutes. I left feeling that it went well. About a week later I got a call to do a second interview. I went to this interview with 2 pharmacists and 2 techs and got many repeat questions. When I called back the job was given to a Kaiser employee. Not sure why they bothered to interview outside the company.

Interviewed Jan 2012 in San Diego, CA(took 3+ weeks)
I was contacted by the recruiter and exchanged emails and spoke. The hiring manager was nice and professional, and the interview was ok. The post interview follow-up was terrible. Repeated emails to the recruiter went unanswered until I "got the message" and moved on. In the end, not even a form letter email saying - thank you for applying but we selected someone else.

Average Interview – Overall Positive Experience – No – 1 of 1 found this helpful – Fri, 23 Mar 2012

Interviewed Feb 2012 in Burbank, CA(took 5 weeks)
Before the initial interview, I was given a pre-screen questionnaire to fill out. After sending that back to the recruiter, I got a call for an in-person interview. Overall the interviewers were very professional and cordial. Interview questions included a little background about what I currently do (to see how well of a fit i would be in the open position) -- work experience and projects. Group/panel interview questions were more behavioral type questions : "what would you do in this situation..." / "how would you feel if this happened.." "what can kind of contribution can you bring with you if you were hired..." The wait in between interviews were long --- at least 2 weeks in between interviews. Hiring manager was apologetic about the slow process. In the end upper management decided not to hire externally and I got an email from the hiring manager explaining to me what had happened. Could have gotten the job, unfortunately they decided not to hire at this time. The hiring manager was nice enough to write the letter himself and volunteered to keep my resume in case any jobs opened up.

Interviewed Nov 2013(took 2 months)
I was surprised at the lack of urgency. I felt like the process took a long time (2 months from interview to hire, but the job was posted for a couple months before I applied). Since being in the company and seeing the entire hiring process, I think it's fair to say the process takes an average of 3-5 months from positing to hire. Once I actually received an interview I was turned off by the aloof attitude of the hiring manager. The interview itself was more heavily focused on my technical proficiency and skills, as opposed to culture fit/personality (perhaps it was because I was referred from someone internally, so the hiring manager assumed I would be a "fit.")

Average Interview – Overall Positive Experience – Yes, but I declined – Sat, 26 Apr 2014

Interviewed Feb 2014 in Sacramento, CA
The process is probably like every other company, a long process. HR screens, call for more information, forwards resume to hiring manager if feels you are qualified. Then the interview process starts. Can take weeks between first, second, and third face-to-face interviews. Usually panel interviews, which I prefer. Sometimes HR will decline you as good candidate, but the hiring manager will somehow get resume and contact you if they are interested. So that is a good thing because you have a shot at selling yourself.

Interview Questions
Some interviews focus on behavioral questions, while others are more focused on your technical skills. Most recent interview focused on technical/job knowledge. These are most difficult.

Average Interview – Overall Negative Experience – Yes, and I accepted – Mon, 28 Apr 2014

Interviewed Nov 2013(took 4+ weeks)
usually there is 1-2 interviews with the supervisor and her assistant. This consists of themselves praising how amazing they are and what an honor it is for you to be considered to work under them. Then you are told that you should expect to have nothing else going on in your life in order to accept a position so that you can be given every shift that no one else wants since you are the least senior employee.

Difficult Interview – Overall Positive Experience – No – Wed, 14 May 2014

Interviewed May 2014 in Denver, CO(took 3 months)
After applying for a job position online through their career section on their website, I was contacted by the regional HR director 3 months later to join a group interview. It was scheduled about a month out from the invite. When I arrived there were a panel of 8 Kaiser directors from various departments. Everyone filed in and picked their own seats. The lead of the panel then asked all nurses RN and LPNs to line up and order themselves in alphabetical order. After being in line we were then assigned to the partner next to us for the next interview step. We were then asked to obtain information from our partner: name, title, work experience, education, where they currently work, why they want to change jobs, and why they would be a good candidate for a position a Kaiser. After we had a few minutes to chat we then had to present our partner to the panel. After that we had a small break and were given a sheet with several questions. We were to pick one and tell our answer to the group. After everyone answered their questions we were given the opportunity to ask our own. They then said someone may contact us for further interviews if they feel like we are good candidates to move on.
